Lemaire Objects Senteur 2026
Brand operation, visual display and cross-functional communication for Objets Senteur by Lemaire exhibition at La Garçonne Tribeca — styling five sculptural home objects alongside their custom natural fragrances, and coordinating cross-functionally to bring the concept to life in-store.
Objets Senteur invites reflection on how objects and scents shape our relationship to the home — a space of intimacy, memory, and imagination, where they become essential agents of our sensory and domestic lives. The collection included Pomme and Emboîtage, ceramic pieces made with the estate of artist Annie Fourmanoir using chamotte clay, scented with notes like cardamom, fresh wood, foliage.

The collection forwent a concept, considering instead a fundamental idea in Japanese design theory called Ma (間). It dictates that negative space is as crucial to a composition as are the elements themselves. Meaning, empty spaces are not so, and are instead a deliberate void that bring balance and harmony to the whole.

Named Bootsy in reverence to the Bay Area colloquialism, the collection more broadly and positively—refers to the funk legend Bootsy Collins, whose opulent and flamboyant personal style transformed his name into an adjective. The intention was to offer a variety of “funky or off-putting details,” through a polished and effective execution which goal was giving the word bootsy a cerebral, visual interpretation.
